Referees Recognized for Their Achievement
Annual Referee Recognition Award Night, sponsored by the San Jose Soccer Referee Association and District 2, is held at the end of the fall season. A summary of the program is provided below.
Each participitating league in CYSA-N District 2 chooses their "Referee of the Year" to receive the award. The award is given for outstanding service to the league. A "Referee of the Year" is chosen for each of the following categories: Outstanding Adult Referee, Outstanding Youth Referee (18 and under), and Outstanding Novice Referee (first year any age). Categories may include a separate male and female award where appropriate. Cost to participating leagues is $25 per award. The awards for the Outstanding Youth Referee should coincide with your nominee for CYSA-N D2 referee of the year.
Last year eleven District 2 leagues and the San Jose Referees Association collaborated to produce the Third Annual "Referee of the Year Awards". The evening featured award winners from the eleven participating leagues.
If your league would like to participate in this year's collaborative effort, please send email indicating your intent to participate. No meetings are necessary, you choose your award winners, and we do the rest.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us by email refawards@d2sra.org.
